Powdered Activated Carbon (PAC) is activated carbon ground into a fine powder. The small particle size gives fast adsorption, so PAC works quickly when it is dosed directly into water or a process liquid and later removed by settling or filtration.
PAC is made from coconut shell, wood or coal. It suits batch processes and seasonal problems, such as taste and odor episodes at water treatment plants, because no filter bed is needed.
