Coconut shell activated carbon is made by carbonizing and activating coconut shells, one of India’s most plentiful natural raw materials. The result is a very hard carbon with a high share of micropores, which makes it excellent at capturing small molecules such as chlorine, taste and odor compounds and many organic contaminants.
Because it is renewable, hard wearing and low in dust, coconut shell carbon is the preferred choice for drinking water filters, gold recovery circuits and any application where purity matters. It is available as granules, powder and pellets, and as the base for impregnated grades.

Choosing the right grade
Coconut shell grades differ mainly in activity (iodine number), particle size and hardness. Higher activity grades capture more contaminant per kilogram, while hardness matters most for gold recovery and for filters that are backwashed often.
